How much do consignors earn?
Consignors earn 70% of the selling price of items. We deduct a $8 consignment fee.
Why the new system? Little Piggies is implementing a new online registration and bar coded tagging system for everyone’s convenience. Convenience for the consignor means you can register for your number online, sign up for your check in/drop off appointment, view the status of your items during the sale (sold, not sold, selling price, etc.), transfer tags from one season to the next, print all of your tags at once, and best of all quicker turn around for payment! Shoppers will have quicker checkouts as the bar codes allow quick scans instead of hand entered transactions.
Do I price my items or does Little Piggies?
You as the consignor price your own items. You know what you paid for them and know what you would like to sell them for.
How do I know what to price my items at?
1/2 to 1/3 of the original price is a good rule of thumb (i.e., if you paid $100 for that smocked dress, price it at $25-30 or LOWER if you really want to get it out of your closets). Remember, it is RESALE. Most people are looking for quality items at a fraction of the cost. Few people will spend half of the original cost for resale. This is only a recommendation of Little Piggies. We cannot be held responsible if items are not sold due to pricing.
Do you take Maternity? Not at our children’s sale. We have found that it doesn’t sell very well and would prefer to have more room for our childrens items.
Can I consign my big items? Yes, you can! We have helped consignors sell ENTIRE play-sets before. All we ask is that you bring in a photo attached to the info (size, brand,etc ) and we will post it and sell it for you. The buyer will come and pick it up. Any other large items, such as beds, chairs, etc. can be brought in and displayed, space permitting.
I have a toy, some blankets and bedding that is too large for a Ziploc bag. What do I do?
Please place these items in a Ziploc Big Bag. Toys that have lost pieces due to poor packaging and blankets/bedding that are not packaged properly and have gotten dirty by falling on the floor, will not sell. Securely package and label all items!!!
Why do I need a drop off appointment?
Little Piggies tries to make the drop off time as quick and smooth as possible. By scheduling appointments, we avoid consignors all arriving at the same time and having to wait to bring in their items. Appointments are scheduled in 15 minutes increments to avoid this problem. Generally, if a consignor is organized, drop off should only take approximately 10 minutes.
What do I need at drop off?
In addition to all of your items, You need to be organized!!! Make sure that you clothing is separated by gender and by size BEFORE you arrive at drop off. If it is not organized in this fashion, you will have to wait until a rack is available to organize your clothing. That’s it!
Why can’t I bring my children to the private pre-sale?
Since this event is very exclusive, it is very well attended. Due to the high volume of consignors and their guest, it is not an appropriate environment for children. For sizing purposes, we recommend you bring a sample of their clothing or measurements. Children 11 years or older will be admitted but must have a guest pass. In addition, do not bring your younger children to wait outside or in the parking lot. We cannot guarantee their safety.
What if I missed the scheduled pick up date?
Just don’t miss it if you really want your items back. Little Piggies provides a weekend and morning pick up to accommodate people’s schedules. If you are unable to make the pick up time, please find a friend/family member to pick up your items. Little Piggies will not make reminder calls! If you miss the schedule pick up, your items will be donated to charity.
Why can’t I sell infant sleepers?
We will not accept terry cloth sleepers or thin sleepers that would only be used as pjs. They don’t wear well after one child and do not sell. The cute, heavier sleepers from the Gap, Gymboree, etc. which are more of an outfit, will be accepted.
This sounds like a lot of work. Is it worth it?
Definitely!!! It may sound like a lot of work but it really isn’t. Once you start doing it, it goes very quickly. Not only can Little Piggies provide you with great financial rewards but it can help you clean out all those cluttered closets!!!!
